Christmas with the In-laws

I have made it a rule since Colin was born that we don't leave our house on Christmas day until LATE afternoon. I want Colin to be able to play with his toys at home all day and not have to run from house to house to see family. The grandparents come over Christmas morning to see what Santa brought then we have the rest of the time just the three of us. We do go to Chris' parents Christmas night for dinner. We had a good time. Colin played hard and opened MORE presents. Now I have to figure out where I'm going to put all this stuff.

Christmas Morning

Colin woke up around 8:15 Christmas morning. We came downstairs and Colin spotted all the toys in front of the Christmas tree. He just stood there staring at them, not knowing why or how they got there. Chris coached him over to them and he started picking each toy up one by one.

I cooked us Christmas breakfast while Colin danced to Chris playing guitar hero, then Nana and Papa came by to see what Santa brought.

Then Grammy, Papa and Aunt Amanda came by with lots of gifts. Colin first had to show everyone how he can ride his 4 wheeler.

After he opened all of his gifts, Papa Jaime tried playing Guitar Hero. He needed a little help from Amanda.

Colin gave me lots of Christmas morning snuggles and kisses.

Colin started getting worn out, but he quickly got his 2nd wind and started playing with toys again.

Once everyone left, Colin took a nap, then we all got ready and took him outside to ride his 4 wheeler.

Christmas Eve with The Brights

We always went to eat dinner with my step dads side of the family on Christmas Eve when I was little. Santa visited every year and brought all the kids gifts. Since Chris and I started dating, we have always gone to his Granny's house on Christmas Eve. This year we were able to go to the Bright's. I was able to see people I haven't seen in years and Colin played in the gym with the other kids. Then all the kids sat in the floor with my dad and sang Christmas carols until Santa arrived. Colin wasn't too sure of him at first. He kept his distance and just stared.
Santa called out each child's name and they came up, sat in his lap and received their gift. When Colin's name was called, Papa picked him up and sat him in his lap. He was a little uneasy at first, but he didn't cry. At least I got a picture with Santa.

Christmas with my friend Candi

My friend Candi came by on the 23rd to bring Colin his gift. Colin absolutely adores her. She has 2 kids herself and stays very busy with them. She doesn't get much of a break away from them. She found time to come by and show Colin a little one on one attention and he ate it up. She bought him a guitar for Christmas and it was a big hit. He walked around for hours dancing and playing music.

Christmas at Mom's

We had Christmas at my Mom's today. Colin had a really good time. He's starting to get the concept of unwrapping gifts and that there is something fun underneath all that wrapping paper. Chris helped him out a little. After we got home, he played in the floor for a long time with all his new toys.
